When seeking out a pet-friendly hotel in a larger city like Baltimore your choices are usually pretty limited, and quite frankly not very attractive. Most pet friendly hotels usually go the budget route and make you feel like you and your pet are second class citizens, or charge you some exorbitantly high pet fee that makes staying there a burden. Thankfully, Starwood Hotels has put together a chain of hotels that changes all of that. We visited the Aloft hotel in the Arundel Mills area of Baltimore and found a hotel that was hip, high class, full of flair and pet friendly.
Lauren and I have stayed at Aloft properties in the past, but somehow every time we walk into the lobby we are always surprised to see just how fresh and comfortable they really are. The lobby at the Arundel Mills location was no exception. The combination of stylish furniture placed in a warm and open space is incredibly comfortable and welcoming. It really feels like home. It’s as if we are walking into the lobby of a condo building as opposed to the normally cold and sterile space of a typical hotel. That same feeling carries over to the exterior spaces of the property as well.
On top of that, there’s always high energy music playing and a generally positive buzz from both the guests and the staff. Speaking of the staff, the team at Aloft were impressively warm and friendly and made sure to do the little things like remembering Zoe’s name or giving her a treat to make us feel extra welcome. The extra touches don’t stop there though, as part of their pet-friendly arf program, Aloft also sends up some treats, bowls, and a dog bed to make your pooch feel right at home.
The same sense of warmth and style that is in the lobby, carries right over to the rooms as well. They are spacious and high ceilinged to really give you a feeling that you are in more of a condo or apartment than a hotel room. The design is thoughtful and classy with a touch of flair that is evident in every detail.
Aloft hotel also has some really nice amenities. The property in Arundel Mills features a great pool.
What impressed me more though, was the fitness center. Unlike most hotels that only have one or two pieces of equipment that are outdated, the fitness center at Aloft was fresh, clean, modern and most importantly everything worked.
Overall our stay at the Aloft hotel in Arundel Mills was absolutely top notch and we would recommend the property for anyone looking for a pet-friendly place to stay.
