Alleged Leaked Screenshot of iOS 8

Posted on the 14 April 2014 by Anna Peterson

Rumours about the upcoming iPhone 6 have been trickling in non-stop for a while now, most of them revolving around the fact that Apple might release two iPhone 6 models: one with a 4.7in screen, the other with a 5.7in screen. Another frequent rumor claims that the smartphone will come with a new operating system – iOS 8. Recently, an alleged screenshot of the said OS appeared on Weibo (user: Zmeric) and it looks like it’s running on a larger device.

Leaked screenshot of iPhone 6 with iOS 8

The layout looks similar to iOS 7, but with a couple of new apps added to it.

The photo shows a different arrangement of icons – five rows x seven columns, and not four rows x six columns, like the iPhone 5S and the 5C sport. The resolution of the photo is different, as well – 1,600 x 966 pixels – and can’t be found on any available Apple phone. There are several apps present in the screenshot that were not there before, such as Healthbook, iWork, iLife and CarPlay.

The image could be of the iPhone 6, with iOS 8 and a larger display, but then again, it might be just another concept or a fake screenshot. Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone 6 some time in September, but there’s still no confirmed details about it.

Other iPhone 6 rumours include that it will come with a faster processor (Apple’s A8), a thinner design, sapphire screen coating, an improved camera and 1GB of RAM.
