I barely have downtime this month — juggling work, school and my personal life is proving to be tough. But don’t get me wrong, I actually love being busy, I enjoy what I’m doing, I enjoy learning and I like spending quality time with loved ones. It’s just that sometimes I want to shut the world out and have “me time”. And what a coincidence cos I recently found my GC at a nail salon, so my friend and I decided to finally claim our free mani and pedi service yesterday.
I picked this pastel green shade called Jealous, Much? by Orly. Here’s the thing, the salon was charging us extra Php60 cos the nail polish brand is Orly. There’s no extra fee for the unknown Korean brands they offer. I don’t know about you, but nail salons which purposefully charge extra fees just cos the brand is imported, superior or whatever and that they know people would choose that brand instead of the cheaper ones they offer, ticks me off. Yes maybe I’m being stingy, but come on! Why not just apply a flat rate for all? It would appear cheaper that way (even in reality it may not be the case), and it’s better than thinking you have to pitch in a few extra bucks.
Anyway, I like their customer service though! From the moment we walked in they attended to our needs immediately — giving us coffee/tea/water and helping us choose the shades. I also asked if they have a socket nearby so I can charge my phone (there was none near my seat), and I was surprised as one of them quickly brought out an extension cord so I can conveniently charge my phone right beside me. She also handed me out a small piece of paper with the wifi password printed on it, without me requesting for it. Hahaha do I really look like someone hooked to the net? Nah, kidding.
All in all, it was a good two hours of me time! But reality strikes back and here I am cramming something for school (geez, all my classes this term are full of paper works and reports — well that’s kind of expected in grad school actually. But it was my first time to get three subjects at the same time, with my regular day job on top of that)! Ack, weekend why so fast? HAHA! Anyway, how about you? How do you pamper yourself?
