ALBERT Gives Us Dark Dreams In ‘Away We Go’ Video [Premiere]

Have you met ALBERT?” asks the Facebook URL of the Malmö, Sweden indie-rock outfit, and we’re happy to respond in the affirmative. ALBERT’s gentle harmonies are buoyed by a chorale of chiming piano chords and guitar riffs, bringing to mind heartfelt acts like Faded Paper Figures and Radical Face. The new video for their single “Away We Go”, a powerfully honest ballad off of their debut self-titled album, is a surreal and striking look into the complex emotions that pervade relationships. The song was recorded in the Swedish countryside with producer Mathias Oldén (The Radio Dept., Logh, Zhala), and the video was directed by filmmaker Ludvig Hedlund. Piles of boxes tower to the sky and mirrors reflect what isn’t there, haunting visions of vacancy that reveal deep truths. Watch the video above, and check out ALBERT’s album out now.
