July 2017

As we taxied after landing, I was surprised to see this former BA Concorde parked off to the side.  Last flown in August 2000, G-BOAB was the third Concorde to be delivered to British Airways, and is now sitting in a former parking lot.  Originally there were plans to display the Aircraft at Terminal 5 and various schemes to use the airframe have come and gone.  First flown in 1969, the iconic Concorde entered service in 1976 and continued flying until its retirement in 2003.  Twenty aircraft were built, including six prototypes and development aircraft.   Shot thru plexiglas of dubious optical quality with my Nikon D500 w/18-200 mm, processed with Aperture.
