Add Some Comedy To Your Blog With These Tips

Posted on the 21 May 2015 by Dfennell @BloggerGo

You may not realize it, but adding some humor to your blog posts can often help get readers to keep coming back for more. However, if you aren’t a comedian it may seem a difficult thing for you to do.

What one person thinks is funny isn’t always funny to everyone else. If your blog is viewed by children you don’t want any raunchy or tongue-in-cheek humor. However, you do want things that will make the adults laugh too.

Start With Some Pictures

It’s All Viral has the right idea when it comes to using comedy to make people take a look. This is a website that covers a little bit of everything, but each day they have one post that is full of funny photos, which gives the call to action for readers to come back daily for a good laugh.

You can create your own photos using a photo editing tool. Find something funny that is creative commons and add a funny saying to it. There are really no end to the ideas for funny photos, and some of them speak for themselves without any writing to go with them.

Add A Funny Video

Video are great and there are an abundance of them on YouTube. Pick something you think is funny, embed the code on your blog and that add your own quirky story to it. You can say something ironic about it, or add a joke under it that is appropriate to what is in the video.

You could always make your own funny video. If you have a pet that does silly tricks try videotaping them doing their thing. You never know, your pet may become the next Grumpy Cat viral sensation!

Say Something Funny or Tell A Joke

Feel free to repeat a tasteful joke you once heard. The elaborate on it. Maybe you had something in your life happen that resembled that joke. While it may not have been funny at the time, now you can laugh about it and you want to share with other. People like honesty, and they like it from people that aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves.

Sometimes you don’t want the entire post to be humor, you just want a funny line or two. You can add that by posting about the real life funny things that happen to you. Maybe tell your readers about something funny your children did, or look at something in a funnier way.

People like to laugh, and even the smallest amount of comedy on your blog could be the thing that keeps them reading. You don’t have to be a great comedian in order to be funny once in a while.
