A-Z Survey

By Beautybutafunnygirl @beutybutfunygrl
Jamie of the Perpetual Page-Turner comes out with amazing End of the Year surveys, but mixed things up this time with an A-Z Survey. Much like Jamie, I participated in those numerous MySpace and Facebook surveys that had nothing to do with anything. Jamie's take on the A-Z survey is all about books. And we all love a good book survey, don't we?
A-Z Survey
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Sherrilyn Kenyon (I verified this through my Goodreads account, but I don't know why I bothered.)
Best Sequel Ever:
I just finished A Darkness Strange and Lovely by Susan Dennard, and that was a pretty awesome sequel.
Currently Reading:
Darkness Becomes Her by Kelly Keaton
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Tea! Either hot or iced. Water is a close second though.
E-reader or Physical Book:
I prefer physical or an eBook, but my eBook collection has steadily grown throughout the years.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Not one comes to mind. I don't think I really had a "type" in high school, as I went from one end of the spectrum to the other. So, let's say... I don't read enough contemporary for this answer. Too many of the ones I can think of have mystical powers.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Warm Bodies by Issac Marion
Hidden Gem Book:
Gimmie a second...
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Receiving Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Christmas. I wasn't a reader before I received this book. Didn't even ask for it, hadn't read the first three. Figured I'd give it a shot since I had the fourth and the rest, as they say, is history.
Just Finished:
Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Erotic, Christian, Western, hardcore Science Fiction
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (1,468 pages)
Major book hangover because of:
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
Number of Bookcases You Own:
Four (six if you include the two that are still at my mom's).
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Preferred Place To Read:
In my hammock - if the weather permits. Otherwise, in my love seat. What I really want though is a huge comfy chair to sit it. I wonder if my mom will notice if I take hers... It was/is my favorite reading spot when I'm there.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
I have a whole binder on favorite quotes, so this question is a tough one. The one that sticks out at me now comes from one of Sherrilyn Kenyon's novels: "It's easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you'd be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it's lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul." Seriously, just look at some of these. She is too awesome-sauce for words.
Reading Regret:
Hmm, I wish I would have read more in college. I did a lot of reading for classes, but not a lot of reading for me. I kind of dropped off those few years. My TBR list would definitely be a lot smaller  :)
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
I don't think there is one. All the series I'm in the middle of are still ongoing. Go me!
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, The Book Thief by Markus Zusack, and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. This was a touch one and I'm definitely leaving out some favorite-favorites!
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Susan Dennard! I met her a few months ago and she's just amazing. Whenever I @ her on Twitter, she always responds and is such a sweetheart - every time she does respond I go all fangirl. Her novels are awesome and if you haven't read them yet, shame on you!
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Endless by Jessica Shirvington. Second to last book in The Violet Eden Chapters. I cannot wait!
Worst Bookish Habit:
Hmm, probably choosing TV over books. I'm not referring to shows that I watch constantly and DVR, but shows that are just on. Like, if I'm bored, I'll watch TV instead of read my book. Definitely something I'm trying to work on.
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
90% of my books are still at my mom's, but with my two new bookcases, I'm slowly rectifying that situation. So of the books here, it would be The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.
Your latest book purchase:
A Darkness Strange and Lovely by Susan Dennard. I've been a good girl and held off since that came out in late July as my birthday is coming up and I'm trying to hold off to see what I do get and to load up on gift cards
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I was up way too late then I was emotionally damaged, so it was a really long night.
