A Self Challenge Or Two and Going with the Flow

By Yourfamilysurvivalcoach @shari_brewer

Do you set yourself goals and challenges? Things that you’d like to learn and accomplish? Often, I see/read/hear about topics that I’d like to invest some time in but wonder how on Earth to stop the clock to fit things in. So much to be busy with and such little free time, and I know you understand!

It has dawned on me though that it’s not a race. If you set your own agenda, then there is no timeline. Things can happen when they find time to happen, but oh dear I find myself itching to set timelines and cut-offs. Old habits really do die hard I guess. Slow down, me, slow down!

Phew! The pressure is off.

So …. with NO set time frame, and in absolutely no haste, here are 5 things that I am intent on doing, learning and/or accomplishing …. sometime …. soonish ….

1. Crochet – I am an absolutely crap knitter BUT I would love to learn to crochet. Ultimately I would lurve to crochet myself a granny rug in beautiful bright colours. Just like this one!

2. Photography – A short course or some lessons in photography is on the list – it’s sad having a fancy-schmancy camera where the setting never moves from auto. I know that auto takes great pics, but that’s not the point, is it?

3. Volunteering – I would like to give some time to a charity and maybe when Baby Girl starts school this can be possible. Organisations like Lifeline and St Vincents do such a great job for the community and I’d love to assist somehow.

4. Photoshop – the limited Photoshop skills I had years ago have long since evaporated and it is a goal to relearn this program. There’s absolutely no desire to be an expert … just less useless and less frustrated will do me fine!

5. iApp – I want to learn how to create an App for iPhone and/or iPad. I want to go from scratch to Appstore. An app for what? No idea, truly. Just something I’d love to so, so wish me luck!

Well, there are five things (an excerpt from my actual longer list

;)
) that I am keen to master. How about you? Do you have some challenges on your agenda?
