Today's wedding is like a breath of fresh air. Bright + beautiful, it's easy to fall in love with the happy couple, the gorgeous floral's by Honeysuckle Rose, the lovely barefoot bridesmaids and the brides pop of colour lippy (love it!) just to name a few. Lisa + Luke chose to tie the knot at the always amazing Old Forest School, and I can't help but admire her relaxed attitude to the whole wedding planning process...
Don't stress, chill, go with the flow! I've heard wedding planning can be really stressful. I'm not sure why. At the end of the day, you get to marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. And I think that's all that really matters.

Our advice to engaged couples... 
6 years ago I flew an extremely long flight home from the Caribbean after working on board a cruise ship. My plan was to surprise my family, so my best friend picked me up and took me back to her house to shower and sleep before my parents arrived home from work. This was the first time I met Luke, certainly looking my worst from my travels. The next few nights my bestie and I were catching up and hanging out as usual while all this time spending more time around Luke. We then bumped into each other again at my favourite summer spot, Cooks Beach & the rest is history!
I said yes... 2 years later at Shakespeare's Cliff over looking Cooks Beach & Whitianga.
Our wedding style/inspiration was... Relaxed / Rustic / Boho
Makeup - being a beauty therapist I had a gorgeous beauty therapist friend who hooked us up! We also saved on a lot of the decorations as I bought and was given a heap of jars that I painted and sanded to look distressed, then dressed them with lace and twine. The gorgeous Jess from Honeysuckle Rose then filled them with beautiful flowers. My amazing Dad and his mate made small wood rounds to put our name tags on which turned out really cool.
I feel like we splurged on a lot haha! But I'm not sure splurging is the right word....as I would totally spend that again for the amazing companies we used. But! We had four things on top of our list that we wouldn't skimp on.
Number one being our photographer! Other than the memories in our minds from the day, and don't get me wrong, they are amazing, we now have the most incredible photos to tell the story of our wedding day, for the rest of our lives, which we cannot wait to share with our gorgeous new addition, Ivy-Mae. Courtney went above and beyond to get the perfect snaps and she was so fun to have around!
Number two was the food! Who goes to a wedding and doesn't comment on a good feed! Canapés from Lemongrass catering were a hit. My father in law loaded up on them and couldn't even eat dinner! Bummer for him because we had the incredible Tag Burger for dinner. All our guests raved about the relaxed feel with the burgers and to this day, they still can't rate them enough. The Tag burger team were an awesome crew to have along at Old Forest School too!
Number three on our list was the music. Addictive DJs rocked it with a huge variety of cool tunes that had everyone rocking out on the dance floor all night!
And last but certainly not least, the flowers. Jess from Honeysuckle Rose totally pulled off the look I was after! And what a gorgeous human being she is, so easy to deal with and incredible at what she does.
