Oh la la today’s shoot is gorgeous in every way. Fantastic photographer Rin Nelson and a team of very clever peeps put together this pretty shoot, for some seriously delicious looking wedding (or post wedding) inspiration. I will let Rin tell you all about it…

“At the time I was residing in the United Arab Emirates as a western expat and for my annual return trip to Australia, wanted to do something especially creative with my sister Olivia from Olive Farm Designs. As weather can sometimes be unpredictable in Perth, we wanted to create a shoot that was both romantic and stylish using D.I.Y setups in a cosy and dreamy indoor setting. The idea behind our shoot was designed around the question – what comes after the morning of the wedding? Our answer was: cuddles, passion, tenderness, and wedding cake for breakfast!

:)

We envisioned a newlywed couple waking up to their first morning as husband and wife in a honeymoon like setting, with some props from their wedding the day before still around them…her shoes, her bouquet and a fancy top tier from their wedding cake. At the time of the shoot, we were fortunate to find a real-life couple – Penelope S. and Luke – who fit the scene perfectly, displaying genuine love, affection and intimacy between each other the whole time.

We wanted to also incorporate the Pantone color of that year into our shoot too which was radiant orchid, as well as add touches of gold while keeping the rest neutral. This came in the form of the ombre cake handmade by Nafessa from Cupcake Cravers and the gorgeous bouquet designed by Desi of Arabella’s Creations. Since I was coming from the UAE where I had been so far living the last 2 years, I wanted to also include some Middle Eastern influences in the shoot, such as Arabic-looking lanterns which we sourced from Maeline of Wedding Day Flair and a romantic desert-like tent made out of lace. Both the tent, and the hairpiece were hand crafted and designed by my sister Olivia.”
