Kristin Bauer Reaches Out:

Paloma the rescue dog

Kristin has asked us to pass this along to anyone who can help. What a beautiful dog. If you can help or know someone who can, please contact [email protected]

We rescued Paloma at one of Best Friends super adoptions and have cared for her for three long years.  After the recent major knee surgery, which she’s doing better than expected, and dreading three years in a kennel cell, we thought she got a break — she’s been in a foster home for the past few months.

A Plea from Kristin Bauer — Emergency Home for Paloma

She’s been sleeping with her foster mom in bed and having a life style any dog should deserve.  BUT last night, we received an email from her foster mom, who is extremely upset, that her landlord told her Paloma has to leave by Friday (tomorrow!) because some tenants complained her barking.  We were already in process to address this with our trainer, but the landlord would not budge.

This was the first time Paloma began to reclaim her life in which she’s doted, loved and given a soft place to land.  If she goes back to the boarding where she would be confined in a cage, it will very likely finish her…  There’s so much a dog can take.  Any kennel boarding has to be temporary, and that is not where dogs should be shoved in for years.

Even though I am a seasoned rescuer, I am at the end of my wits.

Please help find a foster for Paloma (no kids, no other pets) —  We pay for everything her foster will need to care for our sweet angel.
