A New Mom’s Gift Guide to the Holidays

By Styleofsam @styleofsam

Normally I’m a procrastinator, but baby in my life makes me realize just how little time I have.  So it’s time to get ready for the holidays!  These are some guidelines that I have put into place for MYSELF but may also be helpful for you too…

  • Start early.  At the rate I’m going I’ll be lucky if I get one gift wrapped per day.  Hopefully, all will be done by Christmas!
  • Make a list.  Santa makes a list and checks it twice.  Take a cue from the expert so you don’t have any last minute surprises.
  • Buy in bulk.  Yes, there can be the perfect present for your coworker, sister, friend, AND neighbor.  If you LOVE something that much, chances are they will too! And you never know when you may need an extra present!  {see what I mean about number 2}
  • Buy online.  Most retailers offer a discount when you sign up for their email.  And the gifts COME TO YOU!!!  Then you don’t have to schlep the baby, car seat, baby bag {everything in it}, bottles, formula, etc. into a store and cross your fingers that 1) baby doesn’t wake up 2) baby doesn’t cry 3) you can get all shopping done within the allotted time before the next feed 4) do I need to go on?!?!?
  • Start a gift drawer/closet.  When I see something super awesome, I’ll get it and stash it in closet for later.  I have tons of fabulous baby books, etc so I don’t HAVE to run to the store when a special occasion pops up. **This applies to all year!**

I created a little glossi catalog for y’all to peruse my holiday gift picks.  Everything is shoppable – just click on the picture.  I have to say I’m usually a pretty good gift giver {I’ve been told} and I’ve already purchased some of those items!  If you are one of the recipients, please pretend it was a surprise!  **wink wink**
