Katy and Luke were married in a beautiful village church in Barwick before heading over to Oulton Hall, Leeds, to celebrate with family and friends. The wind was blowing a gale for most of the day but that didn’t stop the sun shining down on us all! I even got to catch up with a Mother of Bride from a previous wedding, the very reason Katy got in touch as she kindly recommended me!
In the morning I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Jackson family at the Bride’s parents gorgeous farm house in Barwick and had fun filming the girls getting pampered while Dad made us cups of tea. Katy had a wonderful wedding morning surprise when she opened her present from Luke. It took her a few moments to work out why she had a photo album of pug puppy photos but when she did realize everyone (even the Flossy & Leigh make-up girls) were cooing over them and saying how impressed they were with the Groom’s amazing gift! The guys house was the usual working out how to tie ties nicely and opening the fun gifts too!
The ceremony was lovely and Lukes face said it all when he saw his bride walk down the aisle towards him. Katy really did look stunning and her Dad looked super proud!
The new Mr and Mrs made their way out of the church in to the sunshine to chat with their guests before being showered in confetti by the church gates. We then welcomed them at Oulton Hall and their photographer took them outside to get those all important group photographs. We even found time afterwards to let the happy couple have a wander around the beautiful grounds at Oulton Hall to get some gorgeous couple shots.
The speeches were possibly my favorite part of the day. The Groom said such heartfelt and beautiful things about his new wife that even her Dad had to resort to using a table napkin to wipe away the tears, which in turn had everyone else in tears!
The wedding party was then moved over to a more modern building for guests to enjoy a photo booth and DJ to party the night away, once Katy and Luke had had their first dance as husband and wife that is! And in front of some gorgeous ‘K & L’ light-up letters from Doris Loves!
I’m sure you can see from the wedding film what a happy and fun wedding it was and it really was a pleasure to film. The families made us feel so welcome that it enabled us to capture some really lovely moments throughout the day because it was all so natural.
Thanks again Katy and Luke, it was wonderful to have been chosen to capture your wedding and to be the first official one I filmed after the arrival of my gorgeous daughter. You made my first day back at work a great one!
