A Lake Tekapo Woolshed Wedding by Rachel Wybrow PhotographyThere are few lakes (if any) in New Zealand more beautiful than Lake Tekapo, so naturally it is one of my top spots for a wedding. Throw in a woolshed, protea's, salmon and Mr Whippy for desert and you have just ticked 5 out of 5 of my dream wedding must haves!

Gorgeous couple Richard and Brogan let the pro's look after the details of their day and the result was... a very happy and stress free bride (amen to that!). Oh and I love the brides alternative advice on saving money... "Don't worry about saving money.. YOGMO (new version of YOLO, definition - You Only Get Married Once)", and check out their clever idea for a honeymoon!

Congratulations to Richard & Brogan, you certainly tied the knot in style! And a big thank you to the talented Oamaru based RACHEL WYBROW PHOTOGRAPHY, I am swooning over all of your beautifully captured details!

How did you meet? At a very classy establishment, The Mad Cow, Christchurch

In three words describe your wedding style... Relaxed, Natural & Rustic

What were your save and splurge items for your wedding?

Save Bridesmaids Dresses @ $30 each from ASOS.
Splurge Mr. Whippy for desert, although this actually works out to be a cheap alternative per head.

What was the most difficult part of planning your wedding? And the most fun?

Nothing and everything!

What did you do for your hens and stag do's?

Hen's was a bus trip around a few wineries ending up at a Country Pub where we paid the bartender $20 to provide the male entertainment. Stag do was a fishing trip and pub crawl around North Otago.

Did you DIY?

Not a lot of DIY, I let the experts take care of that. Cristy and Tessa from Housekeepers Bloomed did an outstanding job of the reception set up including an amazing floral piece above the bridal table.

What music did you play for those special moments?

Aisle Running by James Bay
First Dance Feeling good by Muse, then we switched halfway through to 'Get Low' by the Ying Yang Twins.

Do you have any money saving tips for engaged couples?

Don't worry about saving money.. YOGMO (new version of YOLO, definition - You Only Get Married Once)

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

A quick road trip up the top of the South. Relocated a rental car (for $4) and used up our Airpoints on fancy accommodation!
