A Guide to the top three French Ski Resorts

We all know booking the next family holiday comes around quicker than we would sometimes like, so our guide to the top three French ski resorts should help you on your way to deciding on the best holiday possible.

France is known for its unique dining of frog’s legs and snails as well as being home to the finest fashion houses in the world, but above this chic lifestyle is something you will never forget; something all the family will remember for all the right reasons. High above the hustle of the city you will find a snow heaven offering some of the best ski areas in the world. France has over 25 ski resorts to choose from, each offering something special and unique. We have fine tunes the resort collections to our top three, to make life a lot easier for you.

Chamonix

Chamonix welcomes all of its visitors with dramatic scenery alongside steep, long and tall runs and a vibrant town which offers an excellent nightlife with a lively atmosphere. There are plenty of slopes to choose from each providing skiing or boarding experiences for all levels of experience. At the foot of the Brevent area beginners can enjoy Les Planards and the Savoy area. For the intermediates and advanced skiers can find 150kms of pistes available which are divided into four areas and being the undisputed off-piste capital of Europe, Chamonix is able to offer some quite extraordinary experiences awaiting you on the Mont Blanc Massif.

Morzine

If a picturesque old-style town is what you look for in a holiday, then the Morzine Ski resort has plenty of character and perfect Skiing just outside your door. Suitable for skiers of all levels with nursery slopes for beginners and the advanced skiers can take advantage of 650km of runs as well as 20 black runs. With a lively nightlife and plenty of activities to get involved in, you and your family can enjoy the Savoyard town late into the evening and enjoy dining out in restaurants such as Le Grillon, Le Clin d’Oeil and La Chamade.

Risoul

Risoul is one of the largest ski resorts in the Southern French Alps with high altitude skiing and the area boasts a good snow record. The Ski resort has easy links set up to access Vars, part of La Forêt Blanche. Risoul is perfect for boarders as it offers good free riding and a fantastic snowboarding park. If you’re traveling with children then you will find everything you need at the Ski school, which also offers a ski kindergarten; perfect for the little ones. Risoul has a fantastic selection of activities during the day; as well as a lively nightlife with a great selection of restaurants and bars should you wish to eat out.
