I have no trouble crediting this as a good legitimate DGU. I do question the wisdom, however, of locking the front door like she did effectively ensuring a show down with the bad guy. If she hadn't done that or if they hadn't had a gun in the house, what probably would have happened is he would have run off with the 7 bucks, but we don't know that.
My biggest problem is with leaving the back door unlocked. That's just stupid. It's easy to prevent stealth thieves from entering. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say.
