A Cup of Autumn

By Sweetmabelblog @sweetmabelblog

On a cold, crisp Autumn day this drink will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It is the perfect beverage to enjoy just after a long walk, when your feet are tired and all you want to do is snuggle up with a comforting mug of hot chocolate.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Serves 2-4

100g good-quality (70% cocoa solids) dark chocolate, finely chopped

450ml semi-skimmed milk

a cinnamon stick

Put the chocolate into a heat proof bowl. Place the milk in a saucepan with the cinnamon stick and, over a low heat, simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the hot milk over the chopped chocoalte and, using a whisk, beat the chocolate until it has dissolved and there is a layer of foam on the surface.

Pour into small cups or bowls and serve immediately.
