It is SO relaxing
After completely working myself up because I don’t really count myself as artistically gifted, I soon realised that brush lettering is oh so relaxing. The workshop is set in West Elm’s in-store cafe and you’ll get a free beverage (always always ply me with caffeine, making it the ideal atmosphere to get the artistic juices flowing. Teri demonstrates her own style and how each letter is formed before letting you practice to your heart’s content. That soft sweep of brush against paper is ridiculously satisfying and focusing on making your letters look great mean that any troubles from your day quickly dissipate.Teri is GREAT
Although I wasn’t a reader of Teri’s blog before, I sure am an avid follower now. Her story is inspiring, she’s a soon-to-be Mama and her blog and shop are awesome. We had a lovely evening chatting away to her whilst she tried to steer us in the correct direction. Easier said than done - and I have paper evidence!It’s useful, too
I left the workshop with my very own brush lettered quote print after 2 hours and I was thoroughly impressed with both myself and Teri’s expertise. I can’t wait to frame my little masterpiece! Other attendees of her workshop tend to be bride-to-be’s who’re wanting to create their own invitations or people who’re looking to hone their craft in hand with something else and I can absolutely see why. Teri’s way of ‘teaching’ allows you to create your own style under her guidance, as opposed to learning a strict method which I LOVED.Book a place at one of Teri’s workshops here. And thank me later.

A Brush Lettering Workshop
19.7.17 A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to head along to a brush lettering workshop as my friend Ghenet’s plus one. Hosted by Teri of The Lovely Drawer at the gorgeous West Elm store on Tottenham Court Road in London, I had such a great evening and I certainly feel as though I learned a craft. I realised recently that I don’t *really* have many hobbies aside from blogging - which hosts its own set of unique hobbies within that - unless you count eating snacks whilst bashing out several thousand words of copy per day. If somebody were to ask me to list my hobbies, I could probably comfortably say, blogging, reading, Barrecore, eating, and that’s about me done*!
