A 100 Reasons to Celebrate! A 100th Birthday tea party by That Vintage Caravan
This gorgeous high tea party for a lovely Frances' 100th birthday  was a collaboration between neighbours and friends from Rozelle and event styled and managed by The Vintage Caravan.  As told by The Vintage Caravan - "Not only did the party look fabulous but we all had a ball pulling it all together. The event was held in Russell Lea (inner west Sydney) on 7 September 2013.
Frances has 100 reasons to celebrate one of the rarest of milestones. Vintage Caravan will helped the centenarian kicked off her 11th decade with friends and family by serving up a very special High Tea. Owner of That Vintage Caravan, Kelly Holcroft said “Turning 100 is a super significant event and we were so excited to be a part of this special day with Frances and her family”. Born in Childers, southern Queensland, Frances grew up on a cane farm with her mother father and siblings 5 siblings. Frances said some of her fondest memories were riding horses to school, spending time on the farm with her brothers and sisters and playing the piano for hours on end. Frances met her husband Jack while they were both in the war around 1941 where she worked as a driver for a Major throughout Queensland. Jack worked in armaments. The couple courted but had to wait until after the war to get married. After their big day, the newlyweds moved to Bondi, a place they loved and Frances lived for the next 60 years. Living by the beach, Mr and Mrs Roberts welcomed the first of their four children when Frances was 38 years old. As well as raising her young children, Frances worked as a music teacher. She was an accomplished piano and violin player. Her love of music continued right into her later life – where she played the organ every week at mass. Frances said she had no secret to long life but enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Frances special day was absolutely beautiful. It was a gathering of friends and family from afar. The celebrations flowed long into the evening. There were laughs, tears and copious amounts of reminiscing.
