Following on from my post on the 7 Elements of Contrast you need to know plus how to figure out your contrast levels, I’m going to show you some examples so you can see it in action.  It’s one of the problems with many people who get a personal color analysis, they are never taught how to dress to their personal contrast.  This is why some color combinations and outfits will work better than others, as they are in harmony with your personal contrast.

1. High Value Contrast, Low Colour Contrast

Brown eyes, brown hair, neutral but fair skin, you are most likely to fall into this category.

So what should Michelle wear? You want to put together a high value contrast – so light and dark colours together, then a low color contrast – so either all the same color (monochromatic), or neutral and a color but the neutral needs to relate to the color chosen, as the brown does with the burgundy here.   Michelle looks great in an all neutral outfit too, as long as her value contrast is working.

Best color scheme: Monochromatic in a combination of deep and light
