7X Bigger Than Las Vegas In Gambling Revenue, Macau.com Hits The Market

Posted on the 30 November 2015 by Worldwide @thedomains

Earlier this month we learned that LasVegas.com sold back in 2005 for what could be up to $90 Million Dollars.

In August the sale of Vegas.com was announced to a public company in a deal that could be worth $38 million dollars.

In both instances, Vegas has consistently set the record valuation marks as the most valuable destination-specific website in the world.

Now the website and domain address Macau.com has hit the market.

Yes Macau is the world’s top casino market, with gaming revenues more than 7x that of Las Vegas.

In 2014 Macau took in $44 billion in gambling revenues in 2014.

By comparison, the entire state of Nevada took in just more than $11 billion in gaming revenue in 2014 while the famed Las Vegas strip only generated $6.37 Billion.

Here are some other fun facts about Macau:

Macau is one of the world’s richest cities with GDP per capita ranked #4 in the world in 2014.

Visitors to Macau numbered 32 million in 2014, growth of about 3X since 2000.

Macau is home to some of the biggest gaming operators including Wynn, Sands, MGM, Crown Melco and Galaxy who are investing heavily to create integrated resorts filled with entertainment, shopping and dining.

The most recent addition to Macau is the $3.2 billion Studio City which opened in October with 1,600 hotel rooms and is home to the world’s first Batman flight simulator, Asia’s tallest Ferris wheel, a 5,000 seat arena and Pacha nightclub from Ibiza.

In 2016, Macau will see the opening of the $4 billion Wynn Palace, the $3 billion MGM and the $2.7 billion Parisian with a replica Eiffel Tower in front.

Scheduled to open in 2017 is the $4 billion, 2,000-room Lisboa Palace which is partly modeled on Versailles France.

Macau currently has  29,000 hotel rooms, compared with Las Vegas’s 150,000, and will add 19,000 more rooms by 2018.

So one can argue Macau is in some ways where Vegas was 15 years ago.

There are huge plans for much more entertainment including star filled year long or multiyear  concerts, restaurants by world class Micheline Star chefs and some of the best and biggest nightclubs in the world.

You can see that Macau is now undergoing the next boom with a huge head start over where Vegas was back in the Stardust days and even back in 2005 when the LasVegas.com‘s $90 Million dollar transaction went down.

Like LasVegas.com and Vegas.comMacau.com is not just a domain name but a destination website where you can book hotels, buy show tickets, plan travel and do all things Macau.

Macau.com also boasts 600,000 social media followers and more than 200,000 database members.

With the size of Asia’s growing gaming and travel industry and the 32 million visitors a year to Macau, Macau.com could become one of the leading online travel destinations on the planet.
