On May 3 (Tuesday) senior DPRK officials and 7th Party Congress participants placed floral bouquets and baskets in front of the statues of Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il), “pioneers of the cause of Chuch’e-based revolutionary party building and eternal leaders of the WPK and the Korean revolution, in boundless reverence for them and paid tribute to them” on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.  In attendance were  Kim Yong Nam (Supreme People’s Assembly [SPA] Presidium President), Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So (Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department), Pak Pong Ju (DPRK Premier), Choe Ryong Hae (Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Secretary for Workers’ and Social Organizations), Choe T’ae Bok (WPK Secretary for Science and Education), General Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), Yang Hyong Sop (SPA Presidium Vice President), Kwak Pom Gi (WPK Secretary and Director of Planning and Finance), O Su Yong (WPK Secretary for Light Industry), Kim P’yo’ng-hae (WPK Secretary for and Director of Cadres’ Affairs), Kim Yong Chol (WPK Secretary for and Director of the United Front Department), Ro Tu Chol (DPRK Vice Premier and Chairman of the State Planning Commission), Jo Yon Jun (Senior Deputy Director of the WPK Organization Guidance Department), Pak To Chun (Senior Deputy Director of the WPK Military Industries [machine-building] Department) and other senior cadres and functionaries.

Also, the same day, party congress participants also paid tribute to KIS and KJI and visited the exhibitions at Ku’msusan Palace of the Sun.  Party congress participants also visited Mangyo’ngdae Revolutionary Site .  At Mangyo’ngdae they placed floral bouquets and floral wreaths in front of the graves of KIS’ parents, Kim Hyong Jik and Kang Pan Sok, then visited the birthplace and childhood home of Kim Il Sung.  Party congress participants also visited and toured the Mangyo’ngdae Schoolchildren’s Palace where they placed floral bouquets in front of the KIS and KJI statues there.

DPRK state media also reported on May 3 (Tuesday) that senior officials went to the accommodations of 7th Party Congress participants and visited with them.  Kim Yong Nam (SPA Presidium President), Pak Pong Ju (DPRK Premier), Choe Ryong Hae (WPK Secretary for Workers’ and Social Organizations), Choe T’ae Bok (WPK Secretary for Science and Education), General Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), Yang Hyong Sop (SPA Presidium Vice President), Kwak Pom Gi (WPK Secretary and Director of Planning and Finance), O Su Yong (WPK Secretary for Light Industry), Kim P’yo’ng-hae (WPK Secretary for and Director of Cadres’ Affairs), Kim Yong Chol (WPK Secretary for and Director of the United Front Department), along with other senior cadres and functionaries visited party congress participants.

According to KCNA the senior leadership “referred to the fact that all service personnel and people of the DPRK have waged a dynamic struggle for the final victory in building a thriving socialist nation, registering special events and achievements by leaps and bounds one after another under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n)” and they “called on all the participants to play a vanguard role in the drive to implement the idea and line of the Party in the future, too, bearing deep in mind the undying exploits the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu performed for the founding and development of the Party.”
