7th Party Congress Delegates Activities on May 4

Participants to the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] attended performances of the opera Victory of the Revolution Is in Sight at Pyongyang Grand Theater and Ode to the Party by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theater on May 4 (Wednesday).  According to KCNA, the opera “deals with the noble ideological and moral world of a woman anti-Japanese fighter who staunchly fought till the last moments of her life with the revolutionary faith that the Korean revolution is sure to win thanks to great Comrade Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng).

7th Party Congress participants also visited the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mt. Taesong where they brought floral bouquets to the stand at the cemetery’s entrance and brought flowers and paid their respects at the memorial bust of Kim Jong Suk (Kim Cho’ng-suk), mother of late leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) and grandmother of current leader Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n).  Other groups of 7th Party Congress participants visited the Sci Tech Complex, where they placed flowers in front of a KIS and KJI portrait and toured the complex.
