7 Pairs of Shoes Every Girl Needs

By Cefashion @cefashion

Necessary and shoes are not usually two words that come together in a woman’s vocabulary. Although we may think that having a closet just for shoes is totally worth it, you may not actually need as many pairs of shoes as you thought. There are seven essentials when it comes to a fashionable woman on the go; pumps, wedges, flats, sneakers, sandals, boots, and boat shoes.

If you choose the right pair of each, there is no stopping how many combinations you can create to make every outfit work in any weather condition while still staying current in the ever changing fashion world. Buying shoes can be expensive, not to mention they take up a lot of space, so follow these tips to a thriftier you and more spacious closet.

Black Pumps with a Red Sole

There are two types of material that are recommended for black pumps, either leather or suede. Both are easy to clean; the dark color will hide most scuffs and won’t clash with any other material you are wearing.

If you are in for the long run, buying the well-known red sole heels, aka Louboutin’s, are going to be not only luxurious but durable. If your budget is a little slimmer, splurge out on an excellent pair from Steve Madden’s collection that will still last at a discount.

Nude Wedges to Match Everything

Some days full on pumps just aren’t an option, so dress it down a little and give your feet a break with a pair of nude wedges. Great for going out to the club, summer wedding, or even a first date matched up with a pair of denim jeans.

Wedges make seem durable but with their wide angled platform and usually flimsy strap material they are susceptible to a lot of wear and tear. This means finding a good leather face or thickly woven rope strap style of wedge is necessary for support and longevity. Try to stay away from cork and string backed platforms as they are most likely to break after a few nights out.

Simple Flats for an Interview

Since we have already advised on getting a good pair of black and nude shoes, a pop of color in your flats can be very stylish. Just remember to match your wardrobe appropriately and stay away from overly flashy prints or embellishments as these should be your go to shoe for business casual.

Again suede and leather are a preferred material especially as cheaper brands make a lot of plastic styles and can rub your feet the wrong way.

Sneakers to Hit the Gym

Not just for the gym, sneakers can be good for any high movement activity, volunteering, gardening, ect. Even if they do get dirty you can conveniently but carefully throw them right in the washer! During these time periods your body is at its most vulnerable, one little slip and your ankle could be in serious trouble.

That means choosing the right kind of sneaker for your activity should be a top priority. Nike is always good for runners but doesn’t rule out the other brands. Adidas, Puma, Lacoste and Reebok form a great variety of products to suit your needs and unique style.

Comfy Sandals with a Touch of Bling

Your feet give off much heat and during the summer keeping them cooped up in closed toe shoes may not be ideal. Sandals are very casual but if you keep it classy and choose a pair with just a touch of bling/metallic they can work for a walk in the park or a nice dinner party.

We recommend earthy tones but light pastels are a summer favorite and match most of the colors you’ll be wearing in the summer and spring.

Fur lined Boots for Chilly Winters

We’ve covered all the bases for warm weather but what about for the colder weather at night or when winter rolls in you may ask? Obviously a boot is necessary, but specifically a fur lined one. The fur will give you the look of big spending without sacrificing your warmth or comfort.

Uggs are very popular and for a reason! If you buy them on sale during the summer, they can be extremely affordable for the quality even though other brands such as Bearpaw will surely do the trick.

Boat Shoes for Long Walks

If you are not a fan of the classic boat shoes such as Sperry’s, there are a multitude of closed toe options that you can choose from. Sneakers are great for high volume activity but for long periods of walking your feet need support without the workout spandex to match.

Keds and Toms are another alternative and come in over a hundred different materials and prints for every look.

Just remember, shoes take a lot of abuse from our feet, but the repairs are worth it when you invest in a good solid set of seven pairs. So go big or go home on these few and know that your budget and your closet will eventually thank you!
