7 Colin Firth Films You Might Not Have Seen!

After the release of Kingsman this week it got me thinking about Colin Firth and how good his career has been and will continue to grow. I had quite an obsession with him years ago and managed to watch a wide range of his films, so I thought I would pick seven films to include in this list of his films that you might not have seen.

I made sure to leave off what I thought to be the obvious ones and his biggest films that have been out so far!

Fever Pitch (1997) Review

7 Colin Firth Films You Might Not Have Seen!

The fantastic film which shows how passionate football fans really are, based on the Nick Hornby novel of the same name (and before they made an awful remake as a Baseball film). Colin Firth took on the title role of the obsessed Arsenal fan and teacher showing a great passion for the game.

Hope Springs (2003)

After his fiancé decides to leave him for another man he moves away to really find himself. I think I need to give this film another watch as it certainly has been years since I last watched it!

What a Girl Wants (2003)

I went though a phase of watching this film over and over again not long after its release. Colin Firth’s role was finding out he had a daughter who was now a teenager and how this meant he then had to go back to a life he had long forgotten about. It certainly does have a lot of heartwarming things going on in this film.

When Did You Last See Your Father? (2007) Review

7 Colin Firth Films You Might Not Have Seen!

Another heartwarming film, a father son tale and how they must see eye to eye before it is too late. Who better to play this part opposite than Jim Broadbent? Honestly I could not recommend this one enough, a brilliant performance from young Matthew Beard as well.

Then She Found Me (2007) Review

It seems to be a running order of this list that they are all family based films. This time though it is his partner who finds her long-lost mother.

The Accidental Husband (2008) Review

7 Colin Firth Films You Might Not Have Seen!

It doesn’t really end very well for Firth in this one if I remember rightly, it has been a long time since watching this and maybe not the best romantic comedy you will ever see. But I will certainly watch Firth in anything!

Dorian Gray (2009) Review

7 Colin Firth Films You Might Not Have Seen!

Taking on the role of Uncle in the tale of Dorian Gray and the portrait which keeps him young. I was rather amused by Firth’s character in this one, it is another slightly different acting challenge for him as well.

How many of these films have you seen?

Or that you would now like to see?
