Scientific calculators can be astronomically expensive. If you need one for your homework and you don’t want to deal with the attached price tag, try RealCalc. RealCalc is a basic scientific calculator app, and it’s free. If you need a turbo boost, there’s a higher-level app that only costs a few bucks.
EasyBib
A lot of the time, citations feel painstakingly difficult and brutally unnecessary, but there’s no way to get out of them. EasyBib is an app that will produce a citation for you in three different styles: Chicago, MLA, and APA. You can either enter the title or capture the bar code just as you would a QR code. With a click of a button, you can email it to yourself, and copy and paste it into your document. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
EverNote
EverNote seems complicated, but what it’s doing is syncing all of your study resources together. They’re all bundled together online, so you can take your desk with you anywhere. It’s an excellent way to study during your commute or out at lunch without having to lug everything around with you. EverNote offers a free version and a more complex version for a monthly subscription fee.

Dictionary.com offers up its own free app to make your life a little bit easier. If you’re not sure what you’ve just read, or you doubt a word you’ve written, it’s as simple as typing it in and getting an instant answer. Expanding your vocabulary will lead to a superior research paper, and no one needs to know you used a little bit of help.
Mint
We all hope to survive college with a minimal amount of debt, but sometimes it’s hard to keep track of where all of our money is going. Mint is an app that will help you do just that. Mint will help you budget, so you can be sure you’ll be able to afford books, food, and a much needed night out every now and then.
BenchPrep
You’ll never run out of uses for BenchPrep. Its extensive library holds hundreds of lessons, flashcards, and major test prep tools. Whatever major exam you’re working toward, this app has study questions and an impressive amount of resources to help you succeed. The best part? It’s all free, which will save you money on physical copies of study guides you may have otherwise needed.
Notella
Do you ever read over your notes and realize you forgot to write down the most important dates and times, or even what materials will be covered on an exam? You can only write so fast, and you may miss the devils hidden in the details. Notella is designed to fast track your note taking process, so you’re less prone to missing important information. The app will even allow you to sync notes you’ve taken across other apps.
