Fashion blogging is fun, creative, and a great way to earn money if you do it professionally. However, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut if you don’t find some way to stay consistently motivated.

If you find that you aren’t quite getting the same type of quality output that you’re used to, consider these tips: don’t stop keeping up with fashion, find out what other bloggers are reading and read it yourself, be sure to have something that makes you completely unique, be direct, and practice what you preach.

Keep Up With Fashion!

You can’t stay stuck in yesterday’s news when it comes to fashion. Probably the hardest part about fashion writing is the fact that you actually have to constantly read about new fashions. If you enjoy it, that may be why you started into the fashion blogging world in the first place. And if you’re not willing to put in that effort, it might be a sign you should try something else.

Read What Other People Are Reading

Find out what other fashion bloggers are reading, and do some studying yourself. This may mean reading fashion magazines or maybe even reading fashion blogs of competitors. It’s not a big deal to cherry pick the best content available out there and see what you can do with similar material. Everybody does it in order to stay competitive.

Do Something That Is Completely Unique

If you want people to read your blog, something about it has to be totally unique. Find out what aspect of your personality comes out in your writing, and really focus on that as a way to connect with a specific audience. The more genuine you are, the more people are going to notice that you aren’t copycatting on other people’s methods, topics, formats, or ways of doing business. It’s a sign of respect, in fact, when people start copying what you do in order to get their particular point across!

Being As Direct As Possible With Your Audience

Your audience has a limited attention span, so be direct. Don’t be fluffy, don’t waste their time. Brush up on editing skills so that you know the message you’re trying to get across is absolutely, perfectly clear. When you read the best fashion blogs, you’ll see that they always have this direct writing style. There’s a very good reason for that!

Practice What You Preach

Sometimes bloggers and blog writers tend to be anonymous, critical creatures who way one thing and do another. With fashion blogging, don’t let that be you. If you have advice to your readers, follow that advice. If you promote certain things in writing, promote them in your everyday life as well. This kind of commitment is very valuable in earning trust.
