5 Things to Do in London by The Two London Ladies

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

We love a good London wander here at Two London Ladies and, with the weather looking a lot less like summer this week, here’s our pick of what you could do with your (possibly rainy) Tuesday.

Artisan du Chocolat

Artisan de Chocolat

Forget breakfast, make straight for the Boutique and Chocolateria of Artisan du Chocolat. The confectionery magicians behind Claridges liquid salted caramels have an in-store selection to make Willy Wonka green with envy. We love the hot chocolate, sipped in the serene corner of the store cafe- the ultimate breakfast beverage that’s sure to get you thinking sweet. They also hold the Chocolate 101 on selected days- a 90 minute tasting of caramels, ice creams and cocktails (£29.99) (aka, Chocolate Heaven!) Book in advance via their website.

Liberty

Liberty

If you’ve ever been tempted to steal the entire textile collection of the V&A, Liberty is your place. Just off Regent Street, the iconic black and white department store whispers old-school refinement. A tourist trap because of the location, head to the peace of the fabric floor and immerse yourself in rolls of trademark Liberty prints, along with more buttons than a Pearly King. If it gets you feeling creative, you can grab a pattern from their easy range- we love the Make Your Own Knickers patterns, for the perfect frills and furbelows. You’ll be ready to can can all the way down Carnaby Street.

National Portrait Gallery

Hepburn

Dive in from the unseasonable chill of Trafalgar Square to luxuriate in Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon at the National Portrait Gallery. The Porter Gallery plays host to this major exhibition of rarely seen images, family photographs and the incredible Breakfast at Tiffany’s series by Howell Conant. Pre-booked tickets are sold out for July, but you can try and fight for one from the limited number available from the Gallery itself at 10am each day.

Impossible

impossible

Friend of Two London Ladies, award-winning illusionist and mind reader, Chris Cox, appears in what’s been billed as, “the most dangerous show in London” tonight at the Noel Coward Theatre. The team that brought you Derren Brown have turned their hand to a mesmerising melee of breathtaking stunts, trickery, illusion and magic that’s not for the nervous. The show’s on a limited run until 29th August, so if you fancy seeing the impossible actually happen before your eyes, get yourself to the Noel Coward for the 7:30pm show.

The Sky Garden

After all that excitement, you’re going to need a cool down and where better than London’s highest public garden. The most awe inspiring views of the city are yours for free as you wander around the beautifully landscaped gardens of 20 Fenchurch Street.
Advance booking through the website is definitely recommended for London’s hottest new sky scraping terrace. Send us a selfie with the Shard!
