5 Indian Habits of The Great Indian Litterbug That Would Never Change

By Anupamapnb @divallista

Hey everyone!

Swachh-Bharat is the current trend of every Indian citizen (almost I think) which was started by our PM Modi - well this must have surely made the litter god very angry. As we claim that we are spiritual and god fearing people and our country is a spiritual land on the earth and if cleanliness is next to godliness, then I guess our India is the least spiritual country on the earth. Our great litterbugs do all the things from throwing garbage to defecating in open spaces or pissing - on every possible wall in a locality.

1. Spitting : Well this has become quite common now, spitting anywhere and everywhere - A very popular habit of almost everyone (mostly rickshaw-wallas, auto drivers, paan-walas, etc. They just don't care about cleanliness and show of their capacity and capability of spitting everywhere - without caring about anyone who is passing alongside or even on the face of their customers. Why would they? Everyone does so.

2. Modern Art : Everyone must have read Early men made cave arts, signs and various drawings or communication or to mark their presence for future generations, etc but the Indian Litterbug has made it a habit of writing their name everywhere within a heart - Suraj loves Khushi, Priya loves Sameer, Rahul loves Pooja, etc etc these are some very common things we can see on almost every historical monument. How cool does it loom right? Buy who cares? Everyone does so.

3. Indian Railways : Railways are meant for traveling where everyone goes from one place to another enjoying - and you can find some very cool Indian Litterbugs here too. Throwing away "mungfali chilkas" in the compartment is now very common, throwing away peels of fruits makes the litter god so very happy and proud. Is it so difficult to throw away your left overs in a dustbin after getting out of the train? But again who cares? Everyone does so?

4. Garbage Streets : We spit, throw junk out of moving vehicles and if our trash drops on people driving behind us, then tough luck. They should know better! Perhaps along with a helmet the man riding a two-wheeler also needs a full body armor to protect him from the junk being thrown by the vehicles surrounding him. We strive hard to keep our house clean and then throw the garbage outside our home. Of course, we don’t own the road, the government does and it’s the government’s job to keep the road clean, isn't it?

5. Peeing : although we have public toilets everywhere , we all like to pee on the roadside and also ask our children to do the same. Who would go to that dirty, filthy, smelling toilet? When we can enjoy peeing in the fresh air surrounding the greenery. The Great Indian Litterbugs are mostly seeing peeing at places where it is prohibited. How cool right?

Litterbug strongly says why should anything be clean? And also stop other IDIOTS who doing it. The great Indian litterbug is on a mission to litter all over the country and destroy the natural surroundings. They also appeal the people to join them. Litterbugs strongly believe that pooping in public places is not only acceptable but probably a fundamental right. What happen to the litterbugs if our government put notices on the railway tracks that say, "Flush not working", as unfortunately, the railway tracks of our country have just one mode -commode.

All these habits seems very common and familiar because everyone does so, but we shall bring the change in our country. We should take the first step towards cleanliness. It is said, "Cleanliness begins from home, and India is our home". So lets take a pledge to keep our beautiful home clean and also literate people for the same!
