What the Marketing Agency of the Future Will Do Differently

The article (written by Mitch Joel) outlines the modern challenges faced by marketing agencies and points to five new attributes that marketing agencies will need to develop in order to survive.

Here’s a summary of the five points…

1. Models of leanness (how marketing companies can learn from lean start-up strategies, agile and collaborative production techniques)

2. Utility over content (creating something that consumers and customers cannot live without)

3. Content as media (Creating home-grown, genuine and authentic content for businesses and brands)

4. R&D; (Researching and creating what businesses and brands are going to be selling next)

5. Many big ideas (A shift from one ‘big idea’ to ideas that can be re-purposed and personalised)
