19 Ways to Trick Yourself into Becoming a Morning Person

As studies indicate, not many people are ‘morning people’. Basically, out of 10 people, there can be just around 2 who are night owls while the rest of the people fall somewhere in between. Training to become an early riser is not difficult, even if in the wee hours of the night, you operate at your best! To trick yourself into becoming a morning person, there are a number of ways!

  • Planning-A good idea would be planning ahead. If you want to be an early riser then practicing a proper sleep regime is important. If you keep hitting the alarm clock’s snooze button many times before you get up, it indicates that you are deprived of sleep. So sleep earlier and with this adjustment you can get up early too!
  • Scheduling-It is important to establish or implement a proper schedule, to chill out and let yourself know that you need to sleep on time, so as to get up early.
  • Streamlining-Streamlining the pre-work routine can help greatly. This way during the early hours of the morning, less time is spent in rushing around!
  • Watchout-Keep a watch on what you drink and eat. Avoid overeating, sipping or drinking too much before going to bed or else you could remain awake due to discomfort. Sleep could get disrupted due to making frequent trips to the bathroom.
  • Lights Off-Turn off the lights before sleeping. With the power down, it becomes easier to doze. At least one hour before sleeping, the electronic screens should be turned off.
  • Effective Environment For Sleeping-Improve the ability to doze off to sleep by creating conducive environment for sleeping, like ensuring comfort, putting off the light, television or music.
  • Motivation-Motivate yourself to rise early. This could be to either cook up a nice and healthy breakfast, going for an early morning walk or a sweat session during morning time!
  • Caution-If you like to nap during the day time, then do it with caution. Or else your day time snoozing can keep you awake during night!

  • Managing Time-Ensure that time is managed and balanced well in terms of professional and personal responsibilities. Before winding down for the day, ensure that there is at least one hour in hand for pairing down any commitments you may have in the evenings.
  • Use A Good App-Trying out a good app that promises to get you out of bed in time can help.
  • Avoid Hurrying-Avoid getting up in a hurry. When the alarm starts buzzing, ensure waking up with ease.
  • Get Productive-If you are working on a chosen project then dedicate morning time to it and find how rewarding you feel about it.
  • Eat Healthy And Exercise-Willpower is at its highest, early morning. You are able to go through the day with an extra shot of exercise and healthy eating.
  • Preparation-This is important for the next day before retiring for the day. Get together whatever is needed for the following day which will only make it easy to roll out of bed early morning!
  • Lighting Up-Light up the room. To get gently coaxed out of sleep, you could try out a light-up alarm clock, before the sun is out!
