I remember vividly when I was in my junior school years, I drew a picture of myself on a vintage bike with Eiffel tower in the backdrop wearing a Chanel-esque tweed dress (one that my mum owned and all those years I was wishing that I'd grow up fast to fit into!) Oh qui qui - of course there was a basket on that red bike filled with baguettes and bouquets.
That was where I've started chasing my Parisian dream - on a sketchbook.And since then slowly this curious Francophile girl has grown up enough to fit into a tweed dress, attended three years of French class, repeated watched Amélie for over ten times and bought her first precious vintage Chanel bag. The more she chatted to the uber chic Madame Ancelet who was her French teacher, the more her Parisian dream has grown into an untameable beast that gave her the urge to see this this city of grace like a true Parisienne.
Who would agree when I declare that Paris is every woman's dream? From posh-looking Frenchman who seem to be able to pull off every style of beard and man-buns a la moda, to those perfectly airy macaroons and the most glorious sunset at blue hours that only seems to exist in impressionist paintings, is there anything that the French can't deliver with grace and classiness? Oh yes, not to mention the French women who don't ever get fat - like, seriously?
Apparently, it wasn't only women who dream about Paris. On a side note, for those who were wondering I didn't end up marrying up a Frenchman (but I did have my elopement in Paris and have our wedding photos taken under the Eiffel Tower). And the only French phrase I could confidently speak was " Je ne parle pas bien le francais " (I don't speak French well)!
