10 Tips If You Are Going on Vacation While Your Home is for Sale

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

Sold2If your home is for sale and you are going on vacation, don't forget to...

  1. Let your showing appointment desk know you will be gone. If they currently must reach you before showings, let them know when that will not be necessary so you don't miss any showings because they couldn't reach you.
  2. Let your Realtor know when you will be gone and leave instructions on how and when you will be reachable. Sometimes it seems that leaving town is what it takes to get an offer and get it sold!
  3. Leave your thermostat at a comfortable setting.
  4. Have the post office hold your mail and put your newspaper on vacation unless you have someone picking them up for you every day.
  5. Stop any packages from being delivered to your doorstep while you are away.
  6. Arrange to have someone water your plants and flowers and mow your lawn.
  7. Keep your vacation plans to yourself rather than announcing it to the world on Facebook, etc.
  8. Take out ALL the trash before you leave, clean out the refrigerator, do laundry, wash dishes in the dishwasher.
  9. If you have pets be sure to clean up after them and empty litter boxes before you go, even if they are going with you.
  10. Ask a friend or neighbor  or your Realtor to check to make sure lights are off and locks are locked after showings.

Have a good vacation!!
