10 Ancient Treasures That Remain Lost to the World

10 Ancient Treasures that Remain Lost to the World I came across this story when a friend posted it to his Facebook feed earlier today. It lists 10 amazing treasures from the ancient world that remain lost to us to this day. Most of these items fall into the realm of myth and legend, although many do indeed have a basis in historical fact. That makes it fun to speculate about just what happened to them, and consider just where they might be today.
As usual, I don't want to give away too many of the items that make the list, suffice as to say the Holy Grail earned a spot, as did the lost tomb of Nefertiti, which was a spotlight of a major investigation not all that long ago. The treasure from the Tomb of Qin She Huang is also mentioned prominently, although it is said to be guarded by booby traps that remain active 2000 years after the burial site was built, putting it into the realm of Indiana Jones type challenges.
The story is certainly a fun and interesting read with some great reminders of lost treasures that remain undiscovered. There are plenty of others that could be listed as well, but the ten that you'll find here are enough to get the imagination fired up. Some of these probably have never had a well organized, modern expedition search for there whereabouts, but it's never too late to get started. Which one should we go looking for first?
Read the entire list here.
