Quantum of Solace

The Enemy: Dominic Greene, and member of Quantum posing as an environmentalist.

Evil Plot: By pooling his resources with exiled General Medrano Greene intends to overturn the Bolivian government by damning their fresh water supply and creating a monopoly.

Distinguishing Features: None to speak of, although director Foster insisted that Amalric play the role without stage make-up in order to create a washed-out appearance.

Secret Lair: A rather odd looking hotel in the desert is the closest Greene comes to having a base.

Henchmen: Greene has Elvis, as his second in command. Among his other henchmen are Yusef, Mr. Slate, Gregg Beam and Craig Mitchell.

Facts About the Movie

Politically Incorrect Behaviour: Sleeping with the agent who was tasked with bringing you back is pretty unhelpful, but the fact that it gets her killed is pretty uncool.

Notable Firsts: Bond and his leading lady do have sex during the movie – certainly an oddity in this series. Jeffery Wright is the first actor to play Felix Lieter in two consecutive films.

Random Trivia: Daniel Craig found the increased amount of action in his second Bond film quite intensive, and suffered three injuries during the shoot including needing eight stitches in his face.

Paul McCartney was originally offered the opportunity to record the theme music, which would have been his second Bond theme. Instead McCartney suggested Amy Winehouse. Winehouse recorded a demo alongside producer Mark Ronson but it was rejected has he personal situation prevented her from recording music.

The character of Dominic Greene was in part based on British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
